Forskolin-mediated c-fosexpression is inhibited by NMDA receptor antagonists. Northern blots from rat primary striatal cultures probed with c-fos. Cultures were treated for 30 min with forskolin (1–5 μm). Pretreatment for 30 min with MK-801 (50 μm) or APV (100 μm) inhibited c-fos induction. Increasing forskolin concentrations were able to partially overcome the block ofc-fos induction exerted by the competitive NMDA antagonist APV; n = 4.
