Effect of SR 141716A on hot plate latencies in normal animals. Mice received a 5 μl intrathecal injection of either the saline vehicle (n = 49) or SR 141716A (0.0006–0.01 fmol; n = 10–29). Hot plate latencies were measured before and 5 min after injection. ED50 = 0.0012 fmol (95% confidence interval = 0.00018–0.0073 fmol). Observers were blind to treatment allocations.
