Genetically encoded sensors hold the key to unlock secrets of behaviors and diseases. Genetically encoded sensors, which permit high spatiotemporal resolution imaging of neuromodulatory transmission in synapse-, subcellular-, and/or circuit-specific manners under various healthy and diseased conditions, hold the key to unlock the regulatory or pathogenic mechanisms of a variety of behaviors and diseases.
