Figure 6.

Location of retrograde tracer deposits. Location of the six retrograde tracer deposits in Po (a; Po1, FB; Po2- Po6, FG) and in VPM (b; VPM1, FB; VPM2, FG). Epifluorescence images showing the center of the deposits are shown on the left. Deposits were drawn overlaying microphotographs in all Po coronal sections of Paxinos and Franklin (2012) atlas, and they were represented with halo and central zone. Anteroposterior, dorsoventral and mediolateral coordinates are indicated above, on the right or below, respectively. Adjacent serial sections were stained with cytochrome oxidase histochemistry to delimit thalamic nuclei. Eth: Ethmoid thalamic nucleus; LD: Lateral Dorsal thalamic nucleus; Ang: Angular nucleus; LP: Lateral Posterior nucleus; LPM, Lateral Posterior Medial nucleus; LPL: Lateral Posterior Lateral nucleus; OPC: Ovoid Paracentral nucleus. Scale bars: 250 µm.
