DHX36 and G4-DNA time course for decreased G4-DNA targets. DHX36 occupancy following either retention control (RC) or extinction training (EXT) for 10, 30, or 60 conditioned stimuli (10CS, 30CS, 60CS) or equivalent time for RC (RC10, RC30, RC60) showed a significant increase in (A). Yy1 (one-way ANOVA F(5,23) = 5.254, **p < 0.01; Dunnett's post hoc test; RC10 vs EXT10, **p = 0.0020). B, Syne2 (one-way ANOVA F(5,23) = 5.304, **p < 0.01; Dunnett's post hoc test; RC10 vs EXT10, **p = 0.0018). C, Add1 (one-way ANOVA F(5,23) = 3.716, *p < 0.05; Dunnett's post hoc test; RC10 vs EXT10, *p = 0.0190). There was no significant change in G4 occupancy following training of the same groups and genes (D) Yy1, (E) Syne2, and (F) Add1. However, comparing G4-DNA in activated versus unsorted neurons revealed a significant difference between the groups for (G). Yy1 (one-way ANOVA F(3,20) = 3.382, *p < 0.05; Dunnett's post hoc test; RC Arc+ vs EXT Arc+, **p = 0.0222). H, Syne2 (one-way ANOVA F(3,20) = 4.402, *p < 0.05; Dunnett's post hoc test; RC Arc+ vs EXT Arc+, *p = 0.0227; RC Arc+ vs EXT Arc−, **p = 0.0078). I, Add1 (one-way ANOVA F(3,20) = 5.668, **p < 0.01; Dunnett's post hoc test; RC Arc+ vs EXT Arc+, *p = 0.0401; RC Arc+ vs EXT Arc−, **p = 0.0017).
