Experimental task. A peripheral cue indicated the location of a distractor that occurred on 50% of trials. The space bar was pressed to initiate a variable duration delay period (500–1,600 ms). The left or right mouse buttons were used to indicate the orientation of a tilted line within a target of fixed color and shape, regardless of the presence or absence of the distractor.
